Two New Interfaces [Jun. 9th, 2005|02:45 pm]
Subaqua Sternal Rubs now offers two new interfaces for anyone that actually reads this thing on a PDA or cell phone:

  • mobile.subaquasternalrubs.com - Lo-Fi version for larger screen mobile devices (PDA's, etc). Retains full functionality, including commenting, subscribe to comments, and access to all posts (full archives). This is not really new, I just got around to upgrading it for WP 1.5.x.

  • wap.subaquasternalrubs.com - Super Lo-Fi version for WAP-enabled mobile phones. Will just display last 10 posts with comments. You can try it out here.

Now back to your regularly scheduled programming while I continue to prepare for Monday's "Integrated Exam."

Google Ads are Back [Jun. 9th, 2005|06:23 pm]
I took down the Google Ads because they were annoying me. However, now I have found a method so I, as well as anyone that has registered/logged in, doesn't have to look at them.

If you would like to get rid of the ads, you can register here.

Hopefully the ads will bring in a little bit of cash, at least enough to pay for hosting this site. :-)

Stuffed [Jun. 9th, 2005|11:13 pm]
Wow, you really can get a good steak in Grenada. And chicken, shrimp, fish, rice, steamed vegetables, roasted potatoes, and mixed salad. Oh yeah and chocolate and raspberry cheesecake. Despite being buffet style, tonight I had some of the best food in Grenada. The steak was a nice cut and still pink on the inside (not overcooked, which often happens with buffets.) The chicken was super-tender/moist and covered with a delicious sauce. Shrimp was great, as well as all the side dishes. I actually ate the steamed vegetables since they were perfectly steamed - not all soggy, which is what happens when I try and cook. A nice Pinot Grigio to complement everything. And the best part? It was all free.

The bad news is I will not likely be able to go back to this restaurant. :-( As an end-of-term dinner celebration/thank you for all the work done during this difficult term, all RA's were invited to the University Club. A few years ago SGU bought one of the local hotels and converted it to a private club for faculty and staff. Needless to say, they made it nice. It is rumored to have the best restaurant on the island, which I agree with now. It also has the nicest accommodations (these are used to house visiting faculty). Unfortunately, students are not allowed on the grounds (restaurant included) without a faculty/staff member in accompaniment. This is because no cash is accepted for payment - all bills are charged directly to the individual professor's account, and deducted from their paycheck. Hence, not many students have the opportunity to dine at the Club.

Well, hopefully again for next term's RA dinner. Though to be honest, free food in any form is good. (Watch, next year's RA dinner will be at Glover's or Pearl's [the on-campus "bistro" and student cafeteria].)
